Re: This is more about MOOD alone and VENTING

Amy, I can totally empathize with your anxiety about your son "leaving the nest" so to speak because prior to my divorce from my 4 children's father, I'd never spent any considerable amount of time away from them. I was a mommy to 4 little ones and identified as such, even to the point of calling my...

Re: How do I know what dose?

Trying to catch up on threads, and just read yours. So glad read that you're finally settling in to your comfortable dose. I was nodding my head in agreement with what jennjenn said in her last comment about how great it feels to finally be able to focus on other aspects of your life, rather than th...

Re: Addiction: A Disease or a Choice?

Qhorsegirl, I just read that entire article, it took awhile cuz in still having trouble with getting kicked off, but it's a problem with my device, and I'll have to save for a new one. That's why I'm not online much. Sorry. Anyway, that was absolutely the most interesting reading about addiction as ...

Re: pre employment drug tests while on suboxone?!

The rules for employment in the medical field vary from state to state, but based on what I've read, before you are tested, you'll be asked what prescription drugs you take, and the info about them. Then if you test negative for all the other drugs tested for, it should be considered passed. As long...

Re: Struggling to find a path and looking for perspective

Hey there happy, Welcome to our little forum. I hope you'll find the perspective you're looking for here, and as far as my opinion goes, I'm in agreement with the two posters above. Suboxone is a medication that is used to treat an illness. An illness that you, me and many other people struggle with...

Re: New here, just wanted some feedback

I couldn't have said it any better than Amy just did. It took me a little while to come to terms with my new normal. I also thought o could go back to before addiction took over my life, but then realized thathaving been addicted nearly my entire adult life, I didn't know what the heck normal was!

Re: Suboxone maintenance more than once

I've been on sub for about 16 months, and I'm doing so we'll, far better than I ever was during my decade plus of active addiction, so I don't expect to ever stop taking them. I'm grateful for what this medicine has done for me. That said, if ever the time came that I did taper off of it, and I felt...

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW BABY GIRL! YAY! I'm really happy and relieved to hear that all worked out well for you and your baby. Now that she's here and you have the stress of worrying about NAS and CPS behind you, have you given any thought to finding a doctor to obtain a prescription for buprenor...

Re: Thinking about increasing my dose?

Hey there rusty, yea, I'm afraid that increasing your dose probably won't have much of any effect at all, beyond possibly increasing any side effects you might have. Next time you feel a craving, try doing something, anything, to distract yourself/your mind from thinking about it. Even if it's just ...

Re: Horrible dreams;auditory hallucinations.

Hey lobster, your experience sounds terrifying! I can't even imagine, although I have read some threads here about similar experiences happening. I don't think anyone can say for sure that is dose related, but I certainly hope that adjusting your dose helps. I was started on 24 mgs, and while I didn...

Re: Failed Drug Test: OXYMORPHONE

I guess I was a few months into my buprenorphine treatment when this very same thing happened to me. ... twice! The 1st time, not much was said to me about it because they just sent it to an outside lab to confirm I was telling the truth about not using, but it really upset me. Of course, it came ba...

Errrl,

Sorry I haven't posted earlier today to see how you're doing, and ask if you had inducted onto the suboxone yet? I've been getting kicked off the Internet repeatedly all day. Give us an update if you're up to it. Hope it went smoothly.

Re: Please help! I relapsed waiting for induction from metha

Qhorsegirl is spot on about the COWS scale, and not over scoring yourself. I've done it. When you're in withdrawal, it's very easy to score yourself a bit higher than what you actually feel because you want relief so bad. Just a suggestion but,if possible, try to have someone else score your symptom...

Re: Advice needed. At 10 weeks and on 2 mg of subutex

If you feel fine during your third trimester of your pregnancy, I'd say your 2mg dose will be fine. As long as you feel no wd symptoms or cravings, that is. Your doctor probably recommended increasing due to increased blood volume occurring during pregnancy, which could potentially cause the 2 mgs y...

Re: No yawning or stretching while on Sub

The lack of yawning and stretching is a new one on me. I've been taking sub for almost 15 months now, and I still stretch and yawn like I always did. When it's time to dose or I'm late taking my meds for some reason, I do yawn a little bit more, but nothing out of the ordinary. Sorry I couldn't prov...

Re: What to do

I agree with donh, if you tell him exactly what you told us, it's highly unlikely that he won't put you on buprenorphine. One of the definite upsides to having not used in a few weeks is that your tolerance had likely gone down quite a bit, so you may not need to be started on a big dose of sub to c...

As long as your blood level of bupe stays above the ceiling level for the entire 24 hour dosing interval, you shouldn't feel any different at all than if you only take it once a day.

Re: New dose makes me sick what should I do???

I agree with Amy. I was started on a high dose in the beginning, which was needed for a short time at first, due to my crazy high tolerance, over the first few day on 24mgs, my tolerance actually went down! I tapered lower fairly quickly and easily to 12 mgs, and I'm very comfortable there. It's a p...

Re: WHY ARE YOU STOPPING SUBOXONE?

I feel the same way you do slipper. A life free from the misery of active addiction is more important to me than being able to say "I'm free of all drugs/meds". It wasn't the opioids making my life a living hell, it was the spending all my time, money, and energy looking for and taking whatever opia...
