Re: The thing we all dread happened...and I'm surviving it

chaoskitten, you read right. Since I posted that, I have stopped my suboxone temporarily to allow the full effects of the oxycodone. In addition, I got nerve blocks the day of and the day after surgery that knocked out 80-90% of the bone/surgical pain. The blocks have worn off slowly, which allowed ...

Re: The thing we all dread happened...and I'm surviving it

So I had the surgery yesterday. Anesthesiologist explained that they would put a nerve block in my arm after surgery. they had to until i was awake to make sure i didn't have nerve damage from the surgery. i woke to10/10 pain. 3 different doctors told me "this is a very painful surgery". I'm glad th...

The thing we all dread happened...and I'm surviving it

So I posted here last spring about a planned hysterectomy. I had 2 months to wean from 3 mg to 1; off for 3 days & have surgery. That all went very well with minimal pain. 9 days after surgery I restarted sub at 2 mg, wanting to stay low. 6 months ago I was suffering from irritability & got in troub...

Re: Upcoming Survey on How Suboxone affects Mood Disorders.

I was just reading thru this thread and noticed that xonedone said some of her troubles with becoming introverted and irritable bEgan after having a hysterectomy. I also had a hysterectomy last year, and had some of the same issues afterward, with irritability, moodiness, etc. could it be hormonal,...

Re: Upcoming Survey on How Suboxone affects Mood Disorders.

Ha - I forgot to mention my Suboxone history! I am a registered nurse and I was injecting morphine stolen from the hospital back in the late 1990's. Was arrested, charged with 34 2cd degree felonies. Nearly lost my nursing license and my kids. Did lose my job, my house, my driver license, my dignity...

Re: Upcoming Survey on How Suboxone affects Mood Disorders.

Jenny, I am fascinated and will definitely take the survey. I have just recently gotten in trouble at work for irritability with co-workers, not patients thank God. The "I'm perfectly happy sitting in my computer room on Facebook, YouTube and other sites all the time thank you very much" behavior is...

Re: Thanks 62!

I'm going to do that....nervous! Thanks for you help! Beth Beth, sorry, I was camping w/o internet access!. Like Rule62 said, what worked for me was to take my last dose of percocet about 8pm. I woke at 0630 with no withdrawals, thank heavens, They kicked in for me around 9. I wanted to wait as lon...

Thanks, Rule62 , I was hoping you'd see this and comment. My current plan is to wait approximately a year before considering attempting to wean off suboxone. First to give my body its well deserved physical recovery time. I was worried in switching back to subs, what if I have increased pain or a la...

Suboxone and hysterectomy; the last chapter

Very happy to report that my re induction back onto suboxone went as well as Rule62 predicted it would. Brief synopsis - began weaning late March from 3mg/day suboxone to 1mg before surgery 5/29. 3 days before surgery, took last 0.5 mg dose. Did this so I would have good pain control and non stresse...

Tomorrow is the switch day

Hi guys. I'm feeling a little bit nervous  about switching back to suboxone tomorrow. The percocet has been helping my pain very well, but as I mentioned, I'm mostly using it to chase away WD's now. My level of pain (2-3) can clearly be managed by Motrin and proper rest. Plan is to take last ...

Please let us know how your surgery went!

Dear Zeta, I have been thinking about you, and hoping/praying that your surgery went well. Hoping that your your pain is minimal and well controlled. I am very curious to her how things go for you, as I'm 8 days post hysterectomy. Still in the early healing stages with surprisingly little pain. I ho...

Hey xonedone! Im glad your surgery and aftercare has gone well. It sounds like you have a pretty good plan worked out for reinducing on sat. Like you said, youve been off sub for ten days now and also when you went off you were only taking .5mg, so its likely that by now you have pretty much zero s...

Thanks you guys for your support! I am planning on making the switcheroo on Friday when my hubby is home. OK, addict behavior starting up; in WD's but afraid

Hey all. I'm coming here to the induction page to get help & support as I switch back from the oxycodone used after surgery. I have been keeping my oxy dose between 40 - 60 mg/day for one week since hysterectomy 5/29. Yesterday I took only 40 mg/total - by God's grace the pain really is minimal. If ...

Bupeduped and Rule62 , the three days of withdrawals were uncomfortable but not agonizing. Surprisingly, the worst part was the RESTLESS LEGS FROM HELL. Made it completely impossible to sleep for the 2 nights before surgery. My sweet husband said "well, you'll sleep all day on Wednesday". I chose t...

After hysterectomy report

Today is day three since surgery. Have been home since Thursday morning, less than 24 hours after surgery. I feel my wean off suboxone has helped me tolerate the pain. The first day was pain free due to spinal morphine. Thursday Friday I was using percocet 10's every 4 then every 5 hours along withM...
