Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone, I know it’s been a while. However, today marks may three year mark. It’s insane how quickly the time has gone by. I am still doing great being clean. I have also now been out of the hospital for a year which is great as well. Times kind of suck right now with the virus and everyone bei...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone! Four days ago marked my 30 month mark. Two and a half years. Wow. I’m amazed. I was encouraged to make a more thorough update at this mark, so, here it is: I have no withdrawal symptoms anymore. The weird breathing thing I was experiencing prior to quitting comes and goes very occasion...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone! A week ago marked 29 months. Life is pretty damn great apart from having Crohn’s disease. Anyway, I will update more thoroughly next month.

Love you all!

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Another month down. Today marks 26th months since I quit.

Honestly, I don’t have much to say again other than I’ve been doing great.
The only complaint I have is that I’ve been having abdominal pain, but that’s because of my Crohn’s disease.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Meant to post yesterday but forgot. Yesterday marked my 25th month clean. I am out of the hospital and I am doing well by the way. My update is that everything is great and I am simply doing wonderful. Sorry this was a very brief update, but I am being honest and don’t have much to tell. Hope everyo...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

I'm really interested to hear about how you have done with no bupe for 2 years. Have you replaced it with exercise, or something else? A mixture? My plan is to stay on a low maintenance dose, but only because I always relapse when I stop, and I've not heard of anyone successfully stopping everythin...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Congratulations on your 2 years man! That's a huge milestone. Not many people make it to 2 years! The times I've tried abstinence I seem to have stumbled between 18 months and 2 years. In a few months I intend on having another go, and hearing your story is further inspiration. I'm interested in he...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Just so everyone knows why I stopped cold turkey, it's because shortly after taking my increased dose (as I said I went from 2mg to 6mg) I would get what is called "pseudo dyspnea" or "fake shortness of breath". I can't really describe it too accurately but basically I felt like I couldn't take a d...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hello everyone! I did it!!! Yesterday (May 1st 2019) marked my two years sobriety. The time went by so fast! Unfortunately I didn’t update yesterday because I’ve been in the hospital for the past three weeks with what’s presumed to be ulcerative colitis. When I first arrived at the hospital I was ha...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone, today is 23 months!!! I can’t believe I am just a month shy of two years. With everyone’s support, the time really flew by. So here’s my update: No withdrawals at all. They’ve been gone. No depression. No malaise or fatigue. Healthy living and things have been even better since I’ve be...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Figured I would share another quick update with everyone. I know it’s not as important as being clean from bupe, but today marks three years since I quit smoking weed. It was a huge step for me because I never thought I’d stop. I was literally high 24/7, but I decided one day to just stop, and even ...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Great to hear. I remember reading your first entries to prepare for my jump. I’m coming up on 2 years soon as well. I think I quit June of 2017. Due to life circumstances, It has been a rough year and a half but I am glad that I don’t have to use drugs to cope with difficult circumstances anymore. ...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone, today is my 22 month mark. So close to two years already. My god, does time fly. I’ve really been doing good. I truly feel free of subs and opiates in general. I’ve still been seeing the same girl and things are great. She’s truly amazing, very supportive, and even though we didn’t kno...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Happy holidays and new year everyone! I’ve been forgetting to post. January first marked my 20 month mark. Another new year starting off clean. It’s definitely all over - any signs of withdrawals are entirely gone. I’ve been doing better than ever! I’ve lost 50lbs since I quit, I’ve been seeing a gi...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hello everyone! Meant to post this milestone in the exact day but I’ve been swarmed. 3 days ago marked 18 months, exactly a year and a half that I have been clean from subs/opiates. I gotta say, I feel absolutely amazing. I literally have nothing negative to report. I hope everyone is doing well. I ...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Two days ago marked 16 months for me.

My anxiety has lessened but the past few days I’ve been depressed. I am pretty sure it’s from my pre-existing depression, though. Other than that I don’t have much to say in terms of an update. Hope everyone is doing well.

Quick update: reached 15 months
Thank you all for the support over the past 15 months.

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Hey everyone! Sorry I'm so bad at this. I've meant to update several times but I've been very busy and not feeling well. Don't worry, the not feeling well has been due to my sinusitis and my three day long migraines. 11 days ago marked my 14 month! I still can't believe it - especially how freaking ...

Thanks everyone!
Subtaperingnow, you've got this!
I didn't know you jumped off again. Good luck, but I don't think you'll need it.
You're strong, as are all of you others who have gone through this and helped me along the way.

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)

Alright everyone, I'm sorry for being a ghost for the last month. A couple times I tried posting and it wouldn't work. I think there was an issue with my PC not the website. I'm also back to more than full-time at my job. I've been busy and in my downtime I've been finding new things to do. It sort ...
