Congrats Ben, keep going. You’re in the thick of it now but just remind yourself it won’t last forever. Slowly you’ll have more energy, less depression and better sleep. Use this time to push yourself to stay active and not constantly dwell on how you feel. Constantly remind yourself why you are doi...

Re: Start subs next week. Very concerned so any advice welcome
Hey Jaygee, Welcome to the forum. I think you have answered your own question as to whether or not you should start suboxone. Many of us here have tried to quit without it and failed many times. I know you want to change your life and when your in a “self improvement mode” (for lack of a better term...

Hey Ben, Really sorry to hear what you’re going through right now. It reminds me so much of myself. But you should be so proud of yourself for how far you have come. One problem in life often leads to another, and before long, every aspect can become overwhelming. When you are in debt, overweight an...

Re: How long does it tak to feel normal again after subs?!
It can be really scary when those symptoms last that long. I was on subs for over 3 years and have been off them for 2 years now. I won’t lie to you, it takes a while to adjust to life without subs but it’s worth it imo. You will likely feel off and tired for a while but you have to keep an optimist...

Re: Here we go.. (Day 1)
Hey Vyxi, I wouldn’t beat yourself up for staying on Suboxone all that time. In fact, you likely decreased your chances of going back to opiates by being on subs for so long. I know many people who took subs for a year or less and then relapsed to dope. It seems the longer you stay on subs the bette...

Re: There is no reason to be afraid! (I quit cold turkey)
Great to hear. I remember reading your first entries to prepare for my jump. I’m coming up on 2 years soon as well. I think I quit June of 2017. Due to life circumstances, It has been a rough year and a half but I am glad that I don’t have to use drugs to cope with difficult circumstances anymore. T...

Re: Low appetite
Force yourself to eat a lot of food. It will suck for a few days but after that your stomach will expand and you will crave food more often and in higher quantities. The same thing happens in reverse when people go on a diet.

Re: Why are people so uneducated about narcotics?
Yes the perception on opiates is hard to get right for many people. I was watching a documentary which explained that before the 90’s, everyone (including doctors) had that same perception of opiates. They thought just taking it once would cause addiction so only people in excruciating pain would be...

Great job on 4 months clean. It took me a while to feel 100% better as well after I got off. Keep taking it 1 day at a time.

Re: No Fall Internship For Me!!! Assholes!
Sorry about that Amy that really sucks. I know you were really excited about starting that internship. You’ve definitely been through a lot and sometimes it feels like the disappointment and frustration will never end. It will end and you will get to where you want to go, I know it. The setback is d...

Re: Just Started Maintenance, Obsessing about Getting Off
Hey nickel. Sorry to hear you are going through such a hard time. I get how scary it can be to think about getting off subs but it doesn’t have to be. You kept relapsing on dope so obviously your way isn’t working. Maybe you should consider longer term sub maintenance. The terrible withdrawals you h...

Re: Help! Maybe Precipitated withdrawl!!
The first day is always the worst. You probably took suboxone too soon but that’s okay, you’re body is getting used to the suboxone now and you will feel better tomorrow. Just take it as needed until you find a stable dose. 16 mg is a lot imo. See how you feel and congrats on starting your recovery!

Re: What to expect
You can expect to experience pretty significant withdrawal effects for about a month. 2-4 mg is a high dose to jump from especially after being on subs for several years. I stopped subs after 3 years but I cut down to very minute amounts. Less than 1/4 of a milligram and I still experienced withdraw...

Re: Off Suboxone 8 days
Hey cmr, it is great that you were so committed that you cut down to that small of a dose and finally stopped. As everyone said, only you can make the decision to stay off or go back on sub. Obviously sub maintenance is wayyy better and less dangerous than active addiction so if you truly think you ...

That’s great that you’re making videos and posting them on YouTube. Watching videos like that helped me tremendously when I jumped off suboxone. Being able to see people going through the same thing I was, knowing I wasn’t alone, anticipating and preparing for possible symptoms and seeing people com...

Re: Have I stayed on subs long enough? About to stop
Almost 3 weeks is a pretty long time to be on subs without expecting withdrawals. I’ve used subs for a short period of time to get off blues before but no more than 3 or 4 days. Maybe try the jump and see how it goes. You won’t really feel withdrawals until a couple days after you stop because it is...

Hey liberation, hope you’re doing well. Just wanted to respond to a few of your valid concerns that many of us know all too well. It’s definitely a scary proposition when you have heard many horror stories online. But let’s just take the problems 1 at a time so they’re not so overwhelming. 1: 2-4 mo...

Great job keep going! The first few weeks are definitely the worst but keep going to the gym and get a job that you like and develop other habits that will propel you for years to come. Your lifestyle and brain has just made a dramatic reset and now is the time to further the progress you made while...

Re: Is it possible to jump off from 4mg a day? (4 years on)
Hi liberation, I really wish you luck in whatever you decide to do. I know that it’s really scary and you will have to go through it yourself. I tried jumping at around 5 mg after being on subs for about 7 months and by day 9 I couldn’t handle it anymore so I went back to subs. I went back on them f...
