Re: I’m about to relapse

Personally, regarding the dose. I had the same struggle as you have now a couple of months ago and i actually ended up relapsing on Fentanyl for a week (then switched to Methadone). But, i was on 12mg for 6 months, the last 3 months the cravings started growing on me. Discussed it with my doctor and...

Re: What made methadone better than buprenorphine for you?

Seems relatively similar afterall. I get the picture that we have more strict rules here in Finland/Scandinavia, at least when it comes to Suboxone. In order to even get started with medication assisted opioid treatment you have to show 3 months clean from any other drugs than opioids! Many fail th...

Re: Internal temperature messed up

Sage helped me with my sweating when i used Suboxone, couldn't go a day without it. I would notice instantly if i forgot to take my Sage extract in the morning before going to work, i'd sweat all day from the least amount of work. Now i don't know if this is the exact problem that i had but it might...

Re: What made methadone better than buprenorphine for you?

Exactly Doc! Mumin, from what I'm understanding your methadone doctor is in a neighboring town but you are able to dose at your local pharmacy? Definitely a different system than what is available here in the states. We have a doctor at our clinic (who is also my buprenorphine prescriber) 2 days a ...

Re: What made methadone better than buprenorphine for you?

Haha, Amy  @Jenn: I almost did, i actually did a short relapse on Fentanyl that i'm not very proud of :( . It was all thanks to my old doctor who's retiring this year and not being able to help me (he admitted he didn't have the competence to help me). After mentioning my problem all he did was...

Re: What made methadone better than buprenorphine for you?

So i've been on Methadone for a couple of weeks now. I guess we're all different reading from the comments above. I switched to Methadone because Suboxone was not covering my cravings and did not help my anxiety, it did in the beginning, but i think i was just an optimist lying to myself. This is mu...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

TeeJay: She just haven't had anyone with such an extreme history (dose-wise) before she said, at least that's alive (my fentanyl single doses were around 50mg each dose).

Edit: Not with zero tolerance ofc. But i had worked myself up there.

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

Amy: Yes ;) Downreg'd: I can't tell how it'll work for me. The new doctor i talked to now was like "why the hell did your previous doctor put you on Suboxone, you don't even have any options, your only option IS Methadone if you're gonna have a chance. And even with Methadone and your history of the...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

In finland it's the same even if you use Suboxone or Methadone. You have to go every day to get your meds. After a few months you'll start to get weekends to get home and after another couple of months they'll give an extra day etc. etc. So the thing about going to the clinic every day doesn't matte...

Re: What made methadone better than buprenorphine for you?

I am currently on suboxone, but I still crave n’ cave around twice a week no matter the dose. I tried methadone before that I got off an MMT patient. I liked it. I felt great. My counselor is highly against me switching though. He says “the evidence shows it doesn’t work,” and thinks I’m chasing a ...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

I look forward to hearing how your switch goes if you do go through with it. Maybe your experience can help me out. I am for some reason very hesitant to switch even though I’m almost certain it’s better. I keep staying up late on my clinics intake days trying to make a well-researched decision, an...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

So sorry suboxone isnt working for you. A LOT of people dont even know how to take it, (doctors and nurses dont know how important proper administration is so they never mention it) so I have to ask, are you actually taking your suboxone the RIGHT way??? Also, are you seeing a psychiatrist and psyc...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

How long did you stick it out on suboxone? I’m having a similar desire to switch. I feel like I’m unhappy simply because of the under stimulation suboxone gives. I feel ok a little while after I dose, and the second half of the day I’m dull and agitated. I stood out with Suboxone for 6½ months. In ...

Re: Bye bye Suboxone

Mumin, you’re right, we’re all different. I’m so sorry to hear you didn’t have success with buprenorphine. Methadone will hopefully work for you much better. You don’t have to leave the forum just because you’re no longer taking it, you have experience with it regardless and you’re still continuing...

Bye bye Suboxone

Sadly i have to say that Suboxone wasn't for me. In the beginning i was so optimistic to get my life back on track i kinda tricked myself to being happy. But after half a year on Suboxone i've only gotten worse. I realized it didn't help me as much as i hoped. My anxiety's gotten worse, lost my hair...

Re: Uncommon side-effect: Hair loss!

Found this thread when i did a little more searching: [Not allowed to link to a different forum with relevant answers to this question] Seems like those who have had this problem gets their hair back when they stop using Suboxone. But still, please share if you have experiences! EDIT: I found on a d...

Uncommon side-effect: Hair loss!

I just now noticed that hair loss is on Suboxones side-effects list, and i'm rapidly loosing hair, which started when i started using Subutex and Suboxone. It's not a common side-effect but it is there on the list. Anyone else had this problem? And did you get your hair back when you quit Suboxone? ...

Re: Hair Loss

I have this same problem. I just now noticed that hair loss is on suboxone's side-effect's list. I'm thinking of quitting Suboxone or maybe switching to Methadone (there's no hair loss on Methadone's side-effects list). It's not a common side-effect but it is there on the list. This is a link to a s...

Re: I have terrible cravings! Afraid i will relapse

Oh i didn't quit nicotine. I'm not planning to either. I just have a slight feeling comparable to if i haven't had any nicotine when i get these cravings, not as intense and it doesn't help to just put more nicotine in me either. It's hard to explain how the cravings feel, this was just my attempt a...
