Re: Never sick, never even sneeze. Is this normal?
Since getting clean 2+ years ago, I’ve not gotten sick while on Suboxone. But since I’ve gotten clean I walk or jog 15 to 18 miles per week, lift weights 5 times per week (8+ hrs), and eat a healthy diet. I get 7+ hrs of sleep per night. I’m also on TRT so my testosterone and male hormones have been...

Re: After years on suboxone caused bradycardia
Good grief! You’re 300 lbs with sleep apnea! Of course you woke up with a panic attack. That’s what sleep apnea does. Suboxone has nothing to do with this. At 6’ tall your BMI is 41, you’re morbidly obese. That’s not a judgement in any way, it is simply medical fact. You are morbidly obese at a BMI ...

Re: Start subs next week. Very concerned so any advice welcome
Buprenorphine is a powerful opioid but because of its partial agonist structure it doesn’t make the brain scream “more, more, more”! Let your body be your guide and don’t get too caught up in the number of mgs. The main goal is to start building up some “clean time”, so the brain can start to heal i...

Re: Anyone's sleep schedule backwards,awake dark/tired light?
I know a dozen or so on the shot. None of them have complained about it wearing off early. Almost all of them have actually gone past their scheduled shot by 1 week, and even as long as 2 weeks past without feeling any effects. The half life of both the buprenorphine and the depot injection is quite...

Re: question for those on methadone
The reason why BOTH buprenorphine AND methadone work is because they are long-acting opioids. But BOTH are strictly RXd, monitored, and the patient tested. It takes both components to have a prayer of breaking the addiction cycle, in addition to other tools for recovery (Ie...counseling, IOP, 12 ste...

JayGee, I’m glad to hear you are going to give Suboxone a go. We will be here if you have any questions or concerns moving forward. I’m also glad to hear you’re going to try SMART again. I’m a firm believer that the opposite of addiction is not abstinence or non-addiction, but rather...CONNECTEDNESS...

Re: 11 years on 24MG's
You said you are not taking your Suboxone correctly, and having abdominal issues. Are you just using it as prescribed and taking more? Are you buying more off the street? Or are you putting Suboxone up your rectum? When I was on 8+ mgs if Suboxone per day constipation was awful. How are you managing...

Also, I’ve never taken more Suboxone in a day than I was prescribed. Not even once! I could never do that with full agonist opioids. I always kept taking more. Suboxone gives me no euphoria, and when my cravings are gone, I have no urge to use more Suboxone.

Re: Start subs next week. Very concerned so any advice welcome
Short answer, GET ON SUBOXONE! All of the medical and scientific studies have shown that you need to be on buprenorphine for a MINIMUM of 12 months, and that even at 18 months and 24 months the success rate is much higher. Don’t kid yourself, you’re not addicted to some “low dose” of opiates. You ar...

Re: Sick of the Lies
Let’s be perfectly honest...were any of us really getting high off our opiate DOC towards the end anyway? I ran a 17 year habit. I hadn’t got “high” in well over a decade. I used simply to feel “normal”, and not get sick AF. If methadone is working for you, and you’re not abusing it, and living a “n...

Re: Im in PAWS HELL
Detox, rehab, talk therapy, social support (NA meetings, AA, Refuge Recovery), exercise, meditation, recovery reading/books, sober friends, and Suboxone are not all individual avenues for recovery, but rather the entire solution set needed in order to recover. I need each and every one of those. In ...

Dropping below 2 mg is hard. I’m coming up on two years clean and down to .75 mg of Suboxone per day. Hope to be off of it by summer. My next step down will be .5 mg one day, .75 mg the next for one month.

Take 400 mg to 600 mg of magnesium with breakfast daily. You’ll be much happier.

Re: Is there anything for tiredness w/bup?
It used to make me fairly tired until I reduced my dose down to 1-2 mg's per day. I still get a little drowsy but just working, keeping busy, and drinking a few cups of coffee help. You probably don't want to reduce your dose but it's easier than you think. Most of it is mental. The body and mind g...

Re: Where in the World is Doctor Jeff Junig?
I have two friends that battle stimulants. One is an opiate and meth addict. The other a cocaine addict. Both have struggled mightily to stay clean. They both go to an IOP that now RXs Strattera much like Suboxone, and for the first time ever these two have been racking up clean time. This is the fi...

The side effect that is causing me problems is extreme tiredness. I have increased dosage and get burst of energy for a few days but then I get used to higher dosage, tiredness returns and the higher dosage can make it worse. Is there any medication that isn’t a form of amphetimine that can help wit...

Re: Low bone mineral density in men on OST
This was another benefit of getting on TRT for me. I’ve had two scans done, and while I didn’t need TRT for osteoporosis, it has helped my bone density. Of course the testosterone gave me the energy I needed to get into the gym and lift weights, which is very helpful with bone density issues.

Re: Weight gain
I know a lot of addicts who either taper off of opioids or in a temporary dry spell get intense sugar cravings. If you feel like you’re not eating more, have you switched to eating more sweets, cakes, candies, chocolate, etc...? Also, it makes sense to me that you may gain weight for a period of tim...

Re: Is tapering off subs in 5 weeks after being on 8mg a day for 3 years realistic?
Hi everyone, My Suboxone Dr is retiring, and after 3 years of being on one 8mg strip a day, I think this is a sign that it's time to taper off. I only wanted to be on subs for maybe a year, but decided to wait until everything I lost in addiction was built back up. I've rebuilt my life in just abou...
