Any tips to stop splitting dose throughout day

Hey folks, Long time since I've posted - hope you're all well! I went onto Suboxone a year ago and everything went fine. Started on 16mg and I've now been on 10mg for a few months, and am about to come down to 8mg tentatively which I think is probably a better dose for a clearer head for me, althoug...

Re: Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Hey folks! Yeah there is definitely a push to get people to taper. I mentioned on Reddit I was on Suboxone without mentioning dose and some random person's immediate reply was "TAPER NOW, PLEASE!" Didn't even know the dose I was on or my intentions regarding Suboxone. It's a weird attitude of self p...

Re: Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Some notes on my experience so far with Suboxone and 16mg doses. It lasts all day and night but comes in waves. Sometimes it feels like it's worn off but once I forget about analysing that and looking for 'something' it comes back. I haven't experienced any euphoria, but my mood is stable and very ...

Re: Induction Dose in 18 Hours - Still not withdrawing.

This is interesting. I wouldn't make any actual efforts to get any other drugs but it does make me think I may need to settle a bit before dropping. It's hard to describe a craving on paper...I mean does it have to pop into my head, or what? I keep asking myself if I'm craving to make sure the Subox...

Re: Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Hey BlueLight, I totally get where you're coming from about listening to the doctor first and foremost, I'm giving the doctor's 16mg a try. Will take it again tomorrow and see how I feel then consider asking for reduction, as I do feel like it's a bit much for me. I have so far found the 16mg to not...

Re: Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Hi Zon, I am happy to hear all went well for you. I figured it would. I understand the stress of the whole situation and the thoughts and feeling you have are not unlike what most people feel. It is good to know it seems that you may have more control over your doses than you initially thought. I a...

Re: Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Hey Jen, Yeah it's meant to be twice as strong as codeine but its a totally different effect. Comes in 30mg pills. I can't tolerate codeine in high doses, makes me itch like crazy - dihydrocodeine feels very different. When I was getting up to 20+ pills to feel normal I was thinking about ordering s...

Re: Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction.

Thanks again for getting back to me on this again folks, I had worked myself into a panic for no reason as the induction was successful! Very happy with it. Was inducted on 4mg, with 4mg more to take home at about 5pm - a lot more sensible than the 16mg I thought I'd be taking. I do start on 16mg to...

Successful Induction from Dihydrocodeine (UK)

Not seen any threads about induction from dihydrocodeine (DHC) as it seems to be a UK thing mainly so I will briefly lay out my induction for people in my situation who come across this thread. My doses were between 450mg and 600mg, taking up to 900mg a day. Reduced my dose of DHC a few days before ...

Re: Induction Dose in 18 Hours - Still not withdrawing.

Update - got inducted on 4mg at the chemist, no problems at all, cleared the withdrawals. No PW! The two 2mg pills did dissolve very quickly, hopefully I didn't waste too much. Got two more 2mg to take home and take early evening. To be honest I would take some Dihydrocodeine pills just now if I had...

Re: Induction Dose in 18 Hours - Still not withdrawing.

I am 30 mins away from induction (luckily I live 5 mins walk from the clinic). Had what I would describe as mild WD's in full swing now for the past 3.5h since waking up, although have had repeated diarrhoea. Also runny eyes and nose, sweaty palms etc. It could probably go down as just hitting moder...

Re: Induction Dose in 18 Hours - Still not withdrawing.

Cheers for reply, I just felt like adding to the piles of panicked pre-induction threads, which may have set me off as well lol. Yeah I'll drink a lot of water and hope for the best. Can't believe I'm not in WD's though after 12 hours of such a small dose...can't remember that happening before. I'll...

Induction Dose in 18 Hours - Still not withdrawing.

The more I read about this the more concerned I get. Nothing I can do about it now, but is it a bad sign?? I took my last dose of dihydrocodeine (short acting opiate I believe, and weaker than oxycodone) within the recommended timescale and I made it a small dose (8am this morning - it's now after 4...

Re: Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction.

25h until the induction - yesterday I had 3 pills at about 1pm, instead of the 15-20 I'd normally have throughout the day. That kept me from going into physical withdrawals all day (apart from chronic yawning and eye watering) so I was worried my receptors were too saturated with built up dihydrocod...

Re: Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction.

Hey Zon, I too had large pill problem, was started on 4mg up to 12 mgs the first few day and weeks. The reason for the higher doses it that you must feel well and have zero cravings . You can always go lower later, that is easly done. I dropped my mg intake of pills to around 40 mgs the last 3 days...

Re: Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction.

Thanks again for the reply owlcrow, gonna take your advice and lay very low now. As you say there is no point worrying about what is done, I just have to focus on getting these receptors as clear as possibly so I don't get a whole heap of residual opioid goo stripped off them. It's 48 hours until in...

Re: Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction.

Hey owlcrow, Really appreciate the reply there, thanks. I am definitely going to leave it the full 24 hours since my last dose, was thinking a little longer, around 26/27h...but should I have tapered before this cessation period prior to the induction dose? My induction dose is in 60-ish hours, I'm ...

Does it matter how heavy your habit is before induction....?

I mean like in the days and weeks before you start Suboxone. Or is the important thing making sure you've stopped for 24 hours and are in withdrawals before the first dose? Reason I ask if that I was told to come down to 6 pills (dihydrocodeine) per day before I take my first dose of Suboxone (obvio...
