Re: Good News Possibly

Thanks Dhalia for the information. There really isn't much we can do anyway. We are at the mercy of all internet search engines. It just seems odd that with so many people on MAT you'd think we'd be overrun with new members. We'll just keep doing what we do here and hope the people that need support...

Re: Once, twice, or three times per day

It was the lethargy that got me to lower my dose. Kept nodding off at work. Buprenorphine stays in your bloodstream for about 36 hours. That's why the doctors say to dose once per day. With my low dose I take half in the morning and the other half at 4PM. Seems to work for me. Even when I forget to ...

Re: Micro dosing anyone?

No offense to your doctor but they know very little about buprenorphine compared to us users. You won't have any withdrawals at 1 or 2mg's. Just take it really slow getting there. I'm at 1mg and could easily go lower. No reason to taper further as what I take makes me feel completely normal. My wife...

Re: Once, twice, or three times per day

The general opinion of most of the members here will say to reduce your dose as low as possible. A very slow taper should avoid the withdrawal symptoms. Go really slow and stay stable for at least 2-3 weeks before dropping again. I too was started on that high dose and now only take 1-2mgs a day. Mo...

Re: Losing Weight and No Appetite?

Can't say it ever affected my appetite. Back in my old heroin days I never cared about eating. Only ate enough to keep me alive. Who cares when you feel so good? Thank God those days are way behind me. I'm not an advocate of pot but mj does induce the munchies. Dorito stock went up when the states s...

Re: It stopped working!

It may not work with you but for me the smaller doses work better. I take 1mg daily. On a painful day I'll take it up to 2mg and that really gets rid of it. I think it's because my tolerance goes down and the slight upping increases its efficacy. Back when I was taking 8-16mgs it didn't seem to help...

Re: Reddit suboxone replacement therapy

That may be true but we will not go down and out if it can be helped. We've had a few theories of why this forum doesn't get many new members but nothing concrete. All the other recovery forums have a low membership rate too. Some stopped adding new posts. (Addiction Survivors) Before joining this f...

Re: Has anyone ever tried Zentrip or other Sublingual OTC medications?

I quit putting it under my tongue many years ago. Now it goes between my upper gum and teeth. That way it dissolves slower and doesn't interfere with me talking. I'll dose at work in front of everyone and they don't know what the heck I'm doing. One guy asked what it was and after stuttering a while...

Glad to have you back AZ. Yes, I remember you quite well and knew you were having a hard time driving all the way to Vegas to get your meds. Insurance wouldn't cover it because it was out of state. Such bullcrap! My doctor is still here and nothing has really changed since you quite driving over. So...

Re: 30 days off after 14 years on.

Even our moderators have different ways of recovery. I'm on the lowest dose mainly because the medication makes me tired. Most others it does not or I'd still be on the maintenance dose of 8 mgs.

To each their own.

Re: 30 days off after 14 years on.

Wow, very good story nannerpuss. So much good information for those thinking of tapering off. I too have been on it a long time and only take a little each day. (1MG) For some reason I'm just more comfortable taking my meds than thinking about getting off it. One day maybe. Or if I move and just can...

I responded to your Introductions post so I'll leave this one for the others except for one thing. IMO though, you need to be able to take your medication as prescribed before considering getting off it. Maybe our doctors here will say different.

Hi Lisa and welcome to the forum. It's amazing how your story is so similar to mine. AA saved my life so I'll be eternally grateful to them but like you, I quit going after about 4-5 years. Been sober 33 years now. Getting off the buprenorphine is really up to you and only you. A person has to know ...

Welcome back Zentrip, please don't take offense to what was posted before. We get hundreds of new posters who only post once and never return to see the answers. That's why I said what I said. Re: Moving to Oregon (US)

Thinking about moving can give us Suboxone users a panic attack wondering if we will be able to find another doctor to keep prescribing maintenance medication. I faced the same issue moving from CA to NV. Got on the phone and just started calling every doctor who could prescribe it. Lucky for me I f...

Re: What's the difference between the film's & the pills?

In addition to what Lilly posted people also like the films if they intend on tapering down to a lower dose. Pills are hard to cut evenly and the films are quite easy to measure a decent dose. There have been members who just hate the taste of the films and prefer the tabs. Some tabs like Zubsolv ac...
