Re: Another Debacle

What an awful story Lilly. It makes me feel guilty sometimes that I've never had any problems getting my Suboxone. Of course, if we move again that may cause issues trying to find another supportive doctor. I was lucky to find 2 in 2 states. Being in the field you know more that most about how to go...

Re: Articles to print and take to the doctor/hospital

My mistake was not reading what Dr. Junig said before my very painful tongue surgery. Had a tumor on the base of my tongue that had to come out. Ouch! I stopped taking my 1mg of Suboxone and asked for stronger pain meds to help. My surgeon would not give me anything stronger than 10mg Hydrocodone wh...

Re: On Sub for 9 yrs, 12mg films Cat gets bupenorphine for pain control but so expensive

I'm glad you found some relief for your pain. Expecting an answer from our doctor about how to administer buprenorphine to a cat will probably not be answered. And if it is, it may not have the information you need and want. Or I could be wrong. Who knows? Yes, animals can also take buprenorphine fo...

Re: Articles to print and take to the doctor/hospital

Yea, this post is kind of old and a few don't work anymore. This forum went through a few changes and we lost some information. In the TalkZone section, put Pain in the search box and then click on the categories for the articles. That's the best I can do for now. Later on I'll edit the post and try...

Re: It's queenie, remember me?

It's a tough one getting off any benzo's. And yes, Ambien is considered similar to a benzo. All I can recommend is a slow steady taper. Even then, you'll have insomnia for probably weeks or maybe months until your body and mind adjust. Withdrawal will be non existent if you taper nice and slow. Only...

It must change day by day. I did the same thing and it popped up on page 1. Go figure.

Keep posting and maybe others will too.

Re: Hey Everyone, Happy to Be Here

Welcome back! Yea, the traffic is lower and we're not sure why. Maybe because buprenorphine is more widespread and people don't want or need any feedback like they used to. We'll keep the lights on and hope for the best.

Re: Long term side effects of buprenorphine

Can't speak for the naloxone. Side effects from Suboxone (buprenorphine) are a bit rare. Most patients have almost no side effects other than constipation, it is a synthetic opiate. Mild mouth sores which can be resolved several different ways. And maybe some slight drowsiness. A very safe drug all ...

Re: Veteran looking for answers...

This is a tough one. Suboxone is not normally prescribed for pain. The active ingredient, buprenorphine, comes in patches and pill form. Taken in low doses it does seem to help with pain. Whether or not it'll help with your spinal issues remains to be seen. I get it you don't want to go down the opi...

Re: Still in the tapering process

It's odd that people experience different symptoms from tapering. With me, as long as I did it slowly there was no discomfort at all. The only time I felt w/d's was dropping from 2mg down to 1mg. Way too much of a drop so I went back up, stabilized, then went to 1.75mg for two weeks before dropping ...

Like docm2 said. I'd never use them for fear of being arrested. Good luck and let us know how it turns out if you do decide to buy from them.

Re: Numbness in hands

One would think that if you showed the doctors results to your prescribing Suboxone doctor then he might change his mind and give you plain buprenorphine. Knowing Sub docs the way we do it probably won't happen. To us, it's a no brainer.

Re: Taking Suboxone while looking into the mirror

I'll use a mirror sometimes just to make sure the film goes in the right place. With me, placing it under the tongue didn't work very well. Too much saliva. A member of this forum said they place it between their cheek and gum so I tried that and it dissolves a lot slower. Mine goes up under my uppe...

Thanks for coming back again DB for a check-in. Had to re-read your entire story again to see how you did it. Re: Still in the tapering process

As long as you take your sweet time tapering it should work out. A very small drop every 2 weeks should do it. Yes, being on a small dose has its advantages. Only need to take a little more to help with pain and it works really well. My only fear is being forced off it down the road some day. Luckil...
