Re: Numbness in hands
To answer your question, no, most people don't read the side effects of a drug prescription. That is mainly due to there are just too many of them and a lot of us have not had any bad side effects from Suboxone. Exception being the main talked about ones like loss of libido, grogginess, constipation...

Re: Whats your effective "antidepressant" dose?
Now you're thinking straight. My brother has a doc in Oregon who prescribes generic Subutex instead of Suboxone. Maybe you can find one to help you too. The doctor I have would never do that. It'll take a lot more time before buprenorphine is more widely prescribed. If it ever will be. It's a 50/50 ...

Guess no one wanted to taper along with you. And I'll be surprised if you even read my response back as your OP goes back to January.
If you did succeed tapering and stopping please post an update.

Re: Whats your effective "antidepressant" dose?
Great post and good to see you back syn. How low of dose were you on when you finally quit bupe? I'm just wondering if a low dose would help with your depression. Start out on a 6mg film and reduce it gradually down to 2mg's or whatever works for you. Yes, many a post about the benefits of bupe help...

Re: Whats your effective "antidepressant" dose?
Welcome to the forum Jim. Buprenorphine is one of the most misunderstood drugs ever manufactured. A lot of medical people still haven't been educated about its good effects on combating opiate addiction or how it increases tolerance. My suggestion is for you to print out what you wrote here and let ...

Re: Suboxone causes gastroparesis(?)
If it is indeed the buprenorphine causing your discomfort then I guess the only choice is to get off the medication. Slowly of course. Taking 8mg's is actually a pretty large amount. Maybe you can switch over to the films and slowly taper down to maybe 1-2mg's. They come in 8 & 2mg doses. It'll take...

Re: My journey towards freedom - slow liquid taper process
Good luck with your struggle to be opiate free. I am going to disagree with your terminology about being "addicted" to Subutex. Isn't it really a dependence instead? Addiction to me is continually seeking to get high no matter the consequences and that doesn't sound like your story. Yes, I'm just ch...

Re: Losing Weight and No Appetite?
Same thing happened to me when I first got on Suboxone. My doctor gave me too much and it killed my desire for everything. Once I tapered down to a low dose it all came back. Life is very normal now at 1mg per day.

Re: Having pelvic fusion in two months, I am petrified
I'm going to disagree with you Rdphish. I made the mistake of stopping my bupe before surgery and had zero pain killing effect from the pain meds. Later, I read an article from our doctor here that said to stay on the bupe and ask for a higher dosage of pain meds. Of course my doctor would have neve...

Re: 5+ years of Bupe.....3 month taper......7 days off.
Do you think it may be a bit too early to get off the medication? Most addiction specialists recommend staying on Suboxone for about a year to get stable. Then taper nice and slow. My doctor wanted all his patients off in six months but realized that was too short of time period for decent results. ...

Re: I'm jumping off soon.....
Yes, sorry about the delay in members posting back. It's been so slow here and we don't know why. Jumping from 1mg is not a good idea. Why put yourself through so much misery when you can taper down a lot lower. Films work the best if you can get them. It does seem you've set your mind to it so all ...

Re: Can antibiotic interact with Buprenorphine.?
We're not sure how to help. Are you still on buprenorphine? I can't see how your illness is related to it. There aren't too many side effects from it but you still may be having some. It's rare but people do have some weird ones. Sure hope you start to feel better.

Re: Having pelvic fusion in two months, I am petrified
Yes, it can be done. I went from the same amount before surgery to taking Norco 10mg X 4-6 daily with no discomfort. Problem was, the meds really didn't dampen the pain. May have been just me and the procedure I had done. Others have received pain control doing the same thing. Hope it works for you....

Not really sure if we can be of any help other than suggestions like changing doctors if possible. Or try again to discuss the reasons why he won't let you get relief from mj. Does the office do random drug testing? If not, you're off the hook. My guess is they do or you wouldn't have posted this to...

Thanks for the new update. Amazing how fast time goes by. It seems like you've only been off it for a year or so. Covid is getting less and less here in Nevada. My wife and I had it last December but are fine now. 2 weeks of a low fever and lost about 8lbs. Still, we feel very lucky to have gotten o...

Re: Veterans, Pain and Suboxone
Thanks for the insightful post. So the VA suggested using buprenorphine for pain? That is good news with the exception of all the bad parts you mentioned. A lot of people who suboxone helped have tried for years to get the cap raised and more health professionals educated. I find it ironic that we k...

Nice to see you posting Teejay. I can't stand any psychedelics at all. Back in 1969 I took some Orange Sunshine which supposedly had STP in it. (650 mics) Was warned not to take a whole tab but did anyway and ended up having a grand mall seizure. Woke up in the hospital with a needle of Thorazine co...

Re: Can I go from Buprenorphine to Opiate
Yes, it shouldn't be a problem switching over. I was on 1mg before surgery and took Norco for about 2 months. Went back to Suboxone w/o any ill effects. Just plain stopped the Norco and resumed my dosage of Suboxone. But I did increase it to 6 mgs for a few months due to pain. Then tapered back down...
