Re: Sublocade as a means to an end

Thank you docm2! Wouldn't the Butran's patch also work well for tapering off? Considering it is in micrograms vs milligrams and would wear off very slowly.

Just my 2¢

Re: Sublocade as a means to an end

Sit tight and wait for our doctor to respond to your question. I can give an opinion but that's all it is. It just seems to me that either using the films to cut down slowly or doing the liquid taper method would work best. Again, just my opinion. Give it a little time. Our resident Suboxone doctor ...

Re: My health

I take blood pressure meds and have anti-anxiety meds if need be. (which is basically never anymore) When first induced onto Suboxone my BP went really high and my doctor freaked out. He said it should go down, not up. Well, that was because he gave me 32mgs when I should only have had maybe 4-8 max...

Good to see you're still logging in Lilyval. You're one of the core group members who remember how busy we were just a few years ago. Sure wish I had the answers to make this site crowded again. If Subox Doc can't figure it out there isn't much hope for me. Even our tech wizard Jonathan hasn't been ...

Re: 6 months in the rear-view mirror.

Thanks for posting an update. I too was told to expect a year to feel normal again and that caused me to give up and keep using until Suboxone came along. Congrats to you for getting off that too. If it's in the cards for me I haven't felt the need yet. Someday perhaps....

Re: My journey towards freedom - slow liquid taper process

Congratulations on getting to such a low dose. How does a person cut down a piece to 1/10th of a milligram? It must be just a sliver if you're using the film. Have you thought about just stopping now? It just seems like so little that a body might not even register it. Can you feel that small amount...

Re: Is it withdrawal or my sickness

Depression is a side effect of withdrawal. If you already suffer from it then withdrawal could make it worse. Only a professional can tell you if it's you or the medication. We've seen many members take Suboxone just to stave off depression. Do what you need to do.

You're trying to cut down too fast. 10% reduction every two weeks works best. From 4 mgs you can go down to 3.5 or maybe 3 if you feel okay. Go very slow and you'll feel nothing at all. It took me a year to go from 8mgs to 1mg. Not one side effect either.

Re: Does Bupe Help With Most Cravings?

Congratulations on your recovery! Give yourself a few weeks to acclimate to the Suboxone. Then slowly adjust your dose as you see fit. It's best to start off on the high side and then work down. The cravings need to be crushed into oblivion and never come back. Most doctors will suggest a dose of 8-...

Re: Does Bupe Help With Most Cravings?

To answer your question about cravings, yes it does do a great job of overriding them. The first time I received it my cravings went away immediately and that blew my mind. But back then I didn't know suboxone was an opiate too. A much milder one. Similar to how methadone works but easier to get off...

Re: New to Buprenorphine, this is weird stuff

Buprenorphine is a strange drug IMO. They call it a partial agonist which would explain a lot if one knew the difference between a full and partial agonist. For one, bupe normally doesn't get anyone high. The more you take it seems to go to waste for a lot of members here. If you are taking a very s...

Yes it is sad we don't get as many people here on this site like we used to. You don't mean censorship on this site, do you? No one censors posts here unless they are offensive or against the posted rules. No problem recommending search engines that don't track but how does that affect this forum? I...

Re: Induction - This is horrible!

It sounds like you might have taken too much. Are you off of the morphine? If not, then it may be a symptom of presipitated withdrawal. Though it doesn't sound like that. 4mg's is not that much if you have a decent tolerance. And no, it is worse coming off a full agonist opiate than Suboxone. The gr...

Re: Is this it? Went Cold Turkey

You're a stronger man than me. The only way I'd do it would be to taper very slowly like many others before us. A few posted here that they barely felt any w/d's at all when they got down to a fraction of a milligram. One day I may stop but it's not on my short list. All the suffering you've had wil...

Re: Is this it? Went Cold Turkey

Thanks for the updates and we hope you don't suffer too much discomfort. Stopping at 24mgs is something we don't recommend. If you read through the posts in this section you'll see a taper method works best. Nice and slow. But then, if you can get through this next few weeks you should be good. Keep...

Re: Does lowering suboxone dose help bowels move

Yes, the lower the dose the easier it will get. Please reduce your dose slowly to avoid discomfort. I take 1mg and have no problems at all with any side effects. Life is mostly normal for me now and I'll stay on my current dose for life unless something happens and I can't get it anymore.

Re: Dental Surgery

You may find out that getting pain relief is difficult while being on Suboxone. My mistake after a surgery was stopping my 1mg dose and switching over to hydrocodone. It didn't help at all. The mistake I made was stopping the Suboxone. Once I read what Dr. Junig wrote here that won't happen again. K...

Re: 1 month of Methadone after being on Suboxone

Be very careful trying to get off the Effexor. I too was on it for about 5 years and failed twice before finally understanding I had to go real slow. The capsules have small beads in them. 150mg's has exactly 150 beads. Yes, I counted. First try to go down to the 75mg dose. You may have to take half...

Re: How long for tolerance to be reversed?

Suboxone was developed for opiate addiction. Of course there is no way that it is used that way 100%. We've had plenty of members post about bupe being the first drug they took and now need help getting off it. So much for taking a drug to get off a drug! All that's left is to stop completely w/o an...
