There are alot of postings on that forum in which people complain of being allergic/sensitive to Naloxone. There are also people talking about being on a generic form of burenorphine. These postings are readily available for everyone to read. And no, I am not affiliated with NAABT. Steve

Addiction is not a drug, or medication, it is the uncontrollable behavior and the physiological changes in our brains that cause those behaviors. Look up substance-use disorder in the DSM-IV-TR, addiction is a mental illness. Physical dependency to a drug, or medication, is completly different then ...

Look up the COWS scale and go by that. If you go to the NAABT website it will tell you the score on the COWS you should be at before induction. Since time after last dose of a full agonist before inducting can be different for everybody, going by the COWS scale is your safest bet. Steve

With the amount of methadone you are taking, I would slowly titrate down with your dose. Get and stay comfortable on each drop, then lower your dose again. If it becomes to unbearable, you might think about using Suboxone. If you take it nice and slow, and adjust to each dose, you should be alright....

gville, If your wife is able to taper down the pills and not resume using them, that would be great. Suboxone is for people who have tried to taper and stop on thier own, but couldn't. Good luck, Steve

johnathanm1978, I sent you a p.m. I was in active addiction for 25 years, I have been on sub. for 2 1/2, and I have no plans discontinuing it anytime soon. Ironic, for someone that agrees with harm reduction, I find it odd that you have a problem with someone taking sub. indefinitely. Where is the s...

Subie, I just wanted to congratulate you on realizing that one can't repair the damage active addiction has caused just by doing a detox with sub. It sounds like you are going to take the time needed to rebuild everything that needs rebuilding in your life. Thats exactly what sub. is for. Good luck,...

It looks like she died from having to be taken off of life support due to brain damage. I am not a Dr.,but I highly doubt the Suboxone caused her to die. If anything, maybe she convulsed because the bup. replaced the heroin, and this was enough to help with the central nervous system, which was seve...

If someone has to go to the E.D. for Suboxone they don't write you a Rx for 3 days worth of medication. What you have to do is go there everyday and they dispense the medication to you. This info. can be found through N.A.A.B.T website. Steve

I agree Matt2, the use of "clean" and " dirty" are actually perpetuating the stigma of addiction. I like to use addiction remission, and active addiction in lieu of those other terms. Addiction is actually the behaviors, and changes to one's brain, not a drug or medication. I am also doing very well...
