Re: Voluntarily switched to Suboxone for chronic pain- probl
Sorry to hear you had/are having so much trouble getting suboxone for pain. I'm one of those recovering opiate addicts with pain conditions who use the med for both. Unfortunately, the medication gives US a bad rap, too. We go to emergency rooms and doctors there see us as active addicts and not rec...

Re: Back on Suboxone and back here to tell you all about it
I'm currently only taking 1/3 of an 8 mg film daily. I'm still paying cash (trying to work it out with Medicare), so even though my sub doc wants to raise my dose to somewhere like 8 or 16 mg, I don't want him to- for 2 reasons. 1 - I simply can't afford it, and 2 - I personally, for myself, don't w...

Re: Back on Suboxone and back here to tell you all about it
Amy - thanks for the kind words. No, I didn't have any kind of injury or accident. I have, unfortunately, advanced arthritis (they don't know why it's so bad at my age) in both my neck and back. Next to nothing helps that kind of pain, I've found. The sub helps my fibro pain more than the back pain....

Re: 2.5 years clean -- and always learning
As someone who just returned to the forum, I'd like to throw my response in, if no one minds. I also took the OP's use of the word "clean" off bupe to mean that those of us on it aren't, thereby, "clean". I've felt "clean" (I've always hated that word) - let's just say in remission - ever since I st...

Re: Back on Suboxone and back here to tell you all about it
Thank you all so very much for the kind words and warm welcome (back). It means a lot to me. The sub definitely helps a chunk of my fibro pain. That alone has improved my quality of life. I do, however, still have some pretty bad foot, neck, and back issues that nothing seems to help. I may end up b...

Back on Suboxone and back here to tell you all about it
Hi folks! Some of you might remember me from waaaaay back when. I was on suboxone from 2008 until I weaned myself off 6 1/2 years later. I did fine throughout my sub treatment and for the last 2 1/2 years....until my chronic pain worsened. And I do mean it really worsened. During this same period, I...

Re: 6 months off without much effort (after 5.5 years on)
Thanks for the replies. I looked more into LDN and what I found is that it also acts to stimulate the immune system. Unfortunately, due to other conditions I have, I take an immunosuppressant and the last thing I need is one cancelling the other out, or even coming close. I really need the suppressa...

Re: Off Suboxone maint. 2 years, 8 mos. On 0.5 mg bupe for
Hi Lily, old friend, It seems we suffer from some of the same conditions. I, too, have treatment resistant MDD as well as PMDD and am also now in full-on menopause. (Good times!) My psychiatrist did a couple of things for me. He gave me a very low dose of T3 (Cytomel). It's a thyroid medication and ...

Re: 6 months off without much effort (after 5.5 years on)
It's almost been a year since I last posted. I'm doing well and still off opiates, including suboxone. No relapses and no cravings to speak of. Now that doesn't mean I'm not on my guard. If I had access to them, I honestly don't know what would happen. The main issue I'm left with, as Rule said abov...

Re: 6 months off without much effort (after 5.5 years on)
Thanks to all of you for the support! A couple of things: Don, yes, my pain came crashing back. I had no idea that Suboxone was helping it so much. I actually thought it wasn't! Right now for the first time since diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I really have nothing to treat it and my pain has never be...

6 months off without much effort (after 5.5 years on)
Hi gang - Yup, I'm back after a couple years AWOL. I want to let you all know how I got off suboxone, how I did it, and how it's been going for me. My intent is to keep this short and sweet, but I don't know if that I'll succeed with that effort. I was on suboxone from Dec 2008 thru June 2014 - 5.5 ...

Re: not sure about soboxone and chronic pain
I was on suboxone for 5.5 years (just went off this past June) and I also took it for chronic pain (for severe fibromyalgia). I knew it helped, but I didn't know just how much it helped until I went off of it, because boy did my pain come flooding back. Addicts taking regular pain meds for the secon...

Hey there - Do you have nausea or just no appetite? Has it been like this the whole time you've been on sub? If so how much weight have you lost? If not, when did it start? Some people react to sub with an increased appetite, some with a decreased one. Often appetite on sub seems to be related to su...

Yeah, we were just discussing this in a different thread. And we all pretty much agree with the reasoning you just put forth. No doubt about it. We all knew when RB came out with the films and started saying how much "safer" they were that they had something up their sleeves and it's now clear this ...

Thanks everyone who's sharing. I think it's so important for us to communicate how things differ for us, or frankly we'll just never understand another's perspective. And that's a huge part of living a healthy life as we recover. Jim, my gosh, I'm dreadfully sorry about your father. I went through t...

Hey Orange doll, Yeah, I lot of people here say things like that. Personally, I don't feel that way and never have. To me, suboxone is like any other medication that I have to take daily and get refilled monthly. But with me, I actually take other meds. Maybe people that feel that way don't take oth...

It sure wouldn't be the first time a doctor read a drug test/UA wrong...so that could be it. I'm curious, do you pay for these UA's? If he's checking into your sub levels THAT deeply, I would think that would be one expensive test and you'd know it, because you'd be getting massive bills. This is wh...
