It's been two years....

since I last took a fragment of an orange film. Been altogether clean for 18 months. It has not been a cake walk by any stretch, but it has been worth it even though I definitely deal with a good bit of depression, anxiety and what not still today. One nagging ass thing that I can't figure out is fr...

Big ups to six months. I know from experience that it is no easy feat.

Hey Billy68, Congrats on cutting from 8mg to 4! That in itself is progress. I always made sure that I was somewhat comfortable or stable after dose adjustments before making another cut. There was a natural progression (not forced) with the tapering and it took me about a year and a half to go from ...

Thanks y'all. TD - I read some of your posts and that is just incredible stuff! I could identify with so much and it is interesting to think about the fact that others were out there going through very similar experiences even though we can get caught up in the "go it alone" frame of mind. Congratul...

Congratulations Romeo! I think it is awesome that you continue to give and receive support on this forum. Also, I have seen you be very honest with yourself and others and that shows a great example of how important it is to admit when we are struggling so we can allow the love and support of others...

1 year clear

May 25th marked my 1 year suboxone free anniversary. It has been and still is an interseting and rewarding journey. I was on subs for 4 years and tapered from 32mg to .75mg after being on methadone the previous couple of years. The transition from methadone still remains the most difficult thing tha...

I'm not willing to take new drugs to try to get rid of what the old drugs gave me... Which means that you must be highly opposed to suboxone, unless I misunderstand. By the way, I do not suggest that anyone go out and try kambo. I made the original post in haste during a very turbulent time. This t...

Update on this....

Although the Kambo has helped with PAWS, it is always short-lived, almost like a short boost of energy with an opiate effect. I guess the frog venom contains opioid peptides...it would make sense that it would help, however I now know the only true healer is time. I am still highly in favor of Kambo...

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing as tinydancer about the ADD / ADHD. I know that I am not, yet I go into my fast-paced, high-stressed job everyday and am just a bag of crap in the morning and I have no motivation or focus and I feel lost and spaced out. Then I have my coffee and although it d...

Gabatrol (or anything with phenibut) taken in moderation, or only in times when you absolutely need to function. I would not suggest use more than 2 days a week. For some sleep, high quality kava kava root powder...it will help. It will actually help with the anxiety also. I would steer clear of the...

A few comments after reading this thread. I went from 400mg / day methadone down to 80mg / day over one month so I could start sub. That month was hell and I used a lot of benzos and other shit (some oxy) as I struggled through it. So I basically switched to sub 24 hours after my last methadone dose...

NA and thoughts on recovery

I was in NA on sub for 3 years and my sponsor and friends were supportive and I worked steps and was involved in service. This got me to where I am today...sub free and clean. I just started over with the steps and have no problem with this approach. I had 3 years clean on sub maintenance, now I hav...

Interesting Responses

Funny, I was just saying what had worked for me. Kambo has nothing to do with acupunture. It is a substance that can be applied in many ways and I chose to use points on the ear for application, the same points that are considered the NADA approach to treating heroin addiction with basic acupuncture...

My strange experience overcoming PAWS

I thought about the controversy (being anecdotal) of posting this and am not recommending that anyone do this, however, something called kambo (aka sapo) absolutely 100% stopped my PAWS dead in it's tracks. I mean I could only sleep a few hours rolling around in sweat each night up until I did this ...

Oops-- one more thing... There are TWO areas where I discuss relapse rates. One is 'after short-term buprenorphine i.e. < 1 year. That was from a study presented at the summit referred to above. The second is in reference to release rates after residential treatment; those comments are based primar...

Trying to save a friend's job and life...experience needed

Friend has been on oxycodone for 7 weeks, it was a relapse. He is in harsh w/d and has access to 8mg strips. How many days for a proper detox? I told him to start with 2mg, am I correct. Please chime in. I am thinking 14 days or so starting at max of 3mg and dropping to .25. Sound about right? I wan...

Health

I supplement and workout like a madman even when I don't want to. I have boundless energy, but I've been off of opiates for forty some days and sub (after 3.5 yrs) for seventy some days. Those first 2 weeks were by far the hardest, but I didn't lack energy, it was more like hyper drive with anxiety ...

and the things bothering me right now are RLS (even though I sort of had this back in high school before even using), moderate anxiety (debilitating at work, have to get up and move a lot) and that empty feeling in my head, i.e. boredom and lack of motivation stemming from a type of mental "blanknes...
