Why I'm angry towards Suboxone.

Because if I have to explain to one more person that the naloxone is NOT what blocks the effects of other opioids I will probably spontaneously combust. Now we have people in my country choosing Sublocade over Buvidal (called Brixadi in the US) because it has the "extra blocker". Even though they ar...

Re: My partner and his lack of sex drive on suboxone!

This MAY help some guys who experience this issue. A couple of weeks ago I saw a holistic psychiatrist (yeah I know it's a contradiction. She suggested some supplements that could potentially help with mood stability and a couple of things she said would reduce liver / kidney damage from my mood sta...

Low bone mineral density in men on OST

This is the other significant problem associated with low-T induced by substitution therapy. This study included men on methadone, morphine and buprenorphine replacement therapies. Only shortcoming in the study was the number of participants on buprenorphine is significantly less than for the other ...

Re: does it make u mad when

What I've seen happen that concerns me a bit is when young people seek out street Suboxone as an introductory opioid, perhaps because of ease of availability and the thought of using heroin might scare them. Bupe can still give these people a decent buzz. But it can slip into addiction just as rapid...

Doesn't annoy me.

Better they sell Suboxone than heroin.

An edited version of my TheFix article published on User's News

It can be found here: http://www.usersnews.com.au/home/2019/7/4/blairs-story-vale-luke-or-in-support-of-suboxone Best friends Blair and Luke met in rehab and went to NA together. Both achieved abstinence, but sadly Luke was shamed because he was supported by a Suboxone prescription. People around hi...

Re: Long term difference between Suboxone and abstinence?

OP does make a fair point regarding the a flaw in the rationale of taking maintenance. If a person who takes a regular dose of buprenorphine each day is in fact completely tolerant to its "feel good" effect, how is it different to being abstinent and how does it curb cravings? I've experienced "earl...

I've seen this. It was really sad to see this guy's partner "pinned" after kissing her partner shortly after he dosed. Glad your experience has been far from pleasant. Definitely not something to be repeated. Next time make sure not to kiss like that in the hour or two after dosing, or make sure you...

3. Request a 50 mg IM injection of concentrated ketamine. This typically reduces opioid needs in half and can make post op pain more manageable.

Re: Permanent damage to opioid receptors? (from opioid abuse)

I don't know if using the word "damaged" is helpful. Damaged suggests the changes are irreversible. However I've seen people who have been on huge doses of methadone (150mg+) for years manage to find their way down, off and into a life of opioid abstinence. Sure they have to remain extremely vigilan...

Re: Anyone tried or is using once a month injection?

I signed up for the Brixadi / Buvidal trial, which is very similar to Sublocade except it seems Brixadi provides more stable levels throughout the month, especially over the first few months of treatment. By the sounds of it, Brixadi also has less injection site reactions, as I NEVER experienced any...

Re: I was prescribed Paxil for anxiety.

Yeah I'm back on Pristiq. The agitation disappeared within a couple of days. I'll talk to my doctor about going on Effexor when I choose to attempt coming off again. Effexor and Pristiq are pretty much the same drug, but Pristiq doesn't permit tapering given it's a tablet rather than a capsule. Coun...

Interesting you mention that. My sister has mild bipolar / bipolar spectrum. She only required medical treatment during her university years, and since then has managed to stay on top of her symptoms without medication. I wish I could say the same for myself. That being said, she experimented with a...

Buprenorphine and valproic acid / Depakote

Has anyone ever been on this combination, or taken these two medications among others? According to interaction checkers, there is nothing really to be concerned of (aside from sedation, which IMO is negligible). However I've always found that Suboxone "holds" me a LOT better when I am not taking De...

Re: Just for cravings?

I agree. I am always hesitant to raise someone's tolerance, for example someone taking only hydrocodone... This reminds me of the couple of times I witnessed people with minor codeine addictions, end up on large doses of methadone, often due to a combination of an inexperienced addiction specialist...
