Re: Tapering question

I am sorry that no one has replied to your post. I am not currently tapering. When I have decreased dose, I have stayed on the new decreased dose for at least two weeks before reducing dose again. Give your body a chance to adapt. You my try .4 for a certain number of days then .3 for a day, then re...

Re: I want to get a neck lift/ conscious sedation?

Iwishitwastay. I recently had conscious sedation for cataract surgery. I told the anesthetist that I was on suboxone and it did not present a problem. Good luck.

Re: Friend in ICU not getting Suboxone. Need advice!

Hopefully this situation has been resolved. I know that all medications are hard on either kidneys or liver or both. Withdrawal can elevate blood pressure needing more medication. I did not get my suboxone on the day I was admitted to the hospital in 2014. Seems that doctors not familiar with suboxo...

Re: Follow up to first post, new doc, antidepressants

I took Prozac for several years and never developed a tolerance and when I stopped. I just stopped with no withdrawal or desire to take it. Worth a try, as I believe Prozac has worked for some people with OCD

I hope that you are able to hold on. I don't know your financial situation, but I was in individual therapy for over a year after I started M.A.T. I have friends that have never abused chemicals and I have developed hobbies. For about six months I did puzzles, I have been involved in arts and crafts...

Re: Educating Addiction Counselors!!

Thank you Amy. A freestanding residential treatment center near me has taken some direction from Hazelden and started offering buprenorphine as an option for their opiate use disordered clients. Half of their staff, 12 step followers, quit their jobs because of their abstinence only beliefs.

Re: Doctor appointment tomorrow-need advice

Guest. I am RX 2 mg of buprenorphine/naloxone. I noticed a big difference decreasing from 3 mg to 2 mg. Even a small dose increase equivalent to 3-4 mg of suboxone might be all that you need. I was diagnosed with sleepwalking causing injuries so was RX clonazepam .5 to 1 mg at bedtime. I was on 16 m...

Re: Too much or not enough?

I agree with other posters that you need to pick a dose and stay on it long enough to get accustomed to it. Dr. Junig has recommended dosing no more than 2 times per day. I started on 16 mg then 20 mg, which was too much. After I stabilized at 16 mg for over a year, I decreased to 12 a day and a yea...

Re: Buprenorphine & Benzodiazepine

Only my personal experience. I have taken .5 mg clonazepam at bedtime for many years for the prevention of sleep walking. I was on suboxone before I was rx the clonazepam. I never developed any tolerance to it. Because I am 70 years old, my sleep doctor has given me the okay to attempt to taper off ...

Re: Dose Struggle

You don't say much about yourself but seem focused on your dose. As previous posters have told you , maybe your dose might be too high. Many medications and medical conditions besides withdrawal can cause restless legs. If you are having such a rough time, I hope that you are working on improving yo...

Re: Running out early and think dose needs adjusted

I have also done the same thing, taken more than prescribed then ran short towards the end of the month. When that happens, I count how many pills that I have then figure out how much I can take for the rest of the month and not run out. I realize that I am trying to feel better by taking more. It d...

Kootcat Have you found an online support group for gastroparesis. I have a different rare esophageal disease. achalasia. I joined closed face book group for sufferers of this rare condition. A number of the members also have gastroparesis. None as far as I know suffers from a co occurring opiate abu...

Re: Ignorance in hospitals and its toll on suboxone patients

I suggest that anyone having a colonoscopy or other type of scope ask to be referred to a center that uses Propofol. My first attempt to have a colonoscopy was aborted because the usual drugs did nothing and I was in so much pain. I have had several procedures done this year and have made sure that ...

Re: Change coming to Walmart

I don't fill my scrips at Walmart, but rather CVS. They require a diagnosis of opiate dependence or pain on the RX or they won't fill it. I had surgery in July and got an RX for 20 5 mg oxycodone and 10 2 mg suboxone strips with the designation achalasia on the suboxone RX and pain on the oxycodone....

Re: One Dose per Day-Anxiety With Higher Dosage

I hope that you can stop worrying about dosing, pick a dose, dose 1 or 2 times a day, and not deviate from your plan. I have been on buprenorphine for 12 1/2 years, so don't think that you are alone in long term use. I started out at 16 mg a day dosing once a day. When I decreased to 6 mg I took 4 m...

I took hydrocodone after oral surgery and I am on 2 mg buprenorphine/naloxone. I needed 15 mg to help with the pain. I only needed three doses, fortunately as only prescribed 15 tablets. My experience is similar to others in that I did not experience a rush, any euphoria or sleepiness from the narco...

Re: Visits going once every 3 months?

I have almost peed myself a few times in the lab waiting room at the clinic. My doctor is comfortable with 3 month visits and 3 month ua. My last provider only had ua once every six months. I guess that every provider has different ideas.
