Re: Going to new pcp to get CLONAZEPAM, long story

I will share the typical doctor's perspective. Hopefully other people will share their thoughts from the patient side of things. I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but it will help you understand what your doctor is thinking. Prescribing any medication requires a doctor to look at the bal...

Re: Where in the World is Doctor Jeff Junig?

Thanks for looking for me... I'm sort of back! I don't think I'll ever get as motivated as I was ten years ago but I'll try to increase my presence here, and maybe do a vlog or two.

More new stuff!!

Please refer to my earlier post from today about the media capabilities.... I also just added two other things. One is a chat function; you will see 'mchat' in the menu at the top of the page, and you can see if anyone else is currently chatting and go to the chat page. It IS handy if you want to co...

New: Video/media links

I installed an extension that allows members to embed video. Simply write or copy the link to the video; it should work with almost any media source, including news sites, Reddit (no porn please!), and others that I've never heard of. I pasted a link from Imgur to test it: https://imgur.com/gallery/...

Re: Side Affects of Buprenorphine/Naloxone

I just noticed this last item in the 'new topics' section. I was torn between letting it fall off the list, vs. responding and sending it to the top of the list again. I hope the original poster will respond and let us know how things worked out. Many people here have lost people close to them, and ...

Re: Improving access to Suboxone - $50 to chat

I'm going to make this a 'sticky'. I do not know the person making the offer, but I don't have any reason to doubt him. Funny how suspicious I've become of almost everything these days! I haven't participated in any discussion beyond exchanging a message here. But anyone who fits the criteria might ...

Re: The need to put thoughts to internet paper

Hi Dan! Lot's of good news in your post, so I hope you're feeling proud. Drug tests are difficult to manage. Standard Federal testing, for example for DOT jobs, does not include buprenorphine. Addiction, because of the stigma that disease carries, is protected by the ADA from discrimination. Similar...

Re: Anxiety while a suboxone patient?!

Such an interesting thread, because I have this discussion every day I'm at the office. The discussion always ends this way, with one side explaining the medical reasons (very well presented by Amy), and the other feeling dismissed, ignored, and a little angry. Dan, I hope you'll stick around. Let m...

Re: Forum back up, changes...

Thank you all for your support! I'm sorry about the mobile site... the good news, though, is that the desktop style now fits the mobile screens better and makes a mobile site less crucial. Many of the extensions that were available for the older phpBB software are not available for the newer softwar...

Re: Suboxone and sperm quality

I don't know of any studies about the issue, and I can see reasons why such a study would be extremely difficult to do, if not impossible. But the actions of buprenorphine in the body are similar to the actions of other opioids. The FDA wrote about opioids and birth defects a few years ago: https://...

Re: Suboxone and Dilaudid?

What SHOULD be done when needing opioid pain meds is to STAY on buprenorphine/Suboxone every day, just like usual, and then add the pain med. There is no risk of precipitated withdrawal, as long as the buprenorphine is present first and the pain med added second. It sounds like you have stopped bupr...

Re: I was prescribed Paxil for anxiety.

Paxil (paroxetine) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, or SSRI. All SSRIs are indicated for anxiety, and they all work in the exact same way. Some are more potent, like Lexapro (escitalopram). They all have selling points and detractions. I rarely prescribe Paxil because it has the most wei...

Hi all. As some of you know, the forum was down last week. I want to thank Sreeju, a php programmer from Upwork, for his hard work to get things up and running again. The problems started when I upgraded the server to the newest version of php, which was required for new versions of Wordpress (which...
