Re: Here we go.. (Day 10 off Suboxone)

It's really common for people who are in the process of quitting Suboxone to focus on the negatives from treatment. It's almost necessary as a part of the recovery process. It's like ex-smokers who need to focus on the negatives of smoking in order to quit. But talk to a current smoker, and they're ...

Re: ugh I'm Back!

Have you tried increasing your dose, leaving it in your mouth for a while but spitting it out? Our gastrointestinal system has its own opioid receptors, which is the reason people get constipated from opiates, especially ones that are taken orally (slow release oral morphine, methadone etc). Perhaps...

Maybe get your liver function tested, especially if you were doing IV drugs prior to going on Suboxone. Something else could be going on.

Re: Suboxone not working this time, help plz? Suboxone Ceili

My money is on your habit being too high to stabilise on Sub. I've been there. Where I'm from you could buy "market" heroin which is relatively cheap, or "pure" which is more expensive and 4-5x the strength. Late 2017 I spent 4 months on the pure, and when I tried to go back on the sub it was near i...

My ongoing review of CAM2038 - Brixadi / Buvidal depot

I recently opted to be a part of a study into Camarus' depot injection of buprenorphine called Buvidal (to be called Brixadi in America). The study I'm in is called DEBUT and its details can be found here - https://www.anzctr.org.au/Trial/Registration/TrialReview.aspx?id=376043 . In a nutshell it's ...

Re: Have you guys heard of this?

Sounds like paranoia symptomatic of psychosis. Hopefully with a few good sleeps under their belt the symptoms will subside and it's just drug-induced psychosis, and the meth use hasn't triggered chronic schizophrenia. The gang stalking thing is really interesting though. Last year I experienced my f...

Re: suboxone stabilizing bipolar disorder?

I'm curious as to whether it's held its mood stabilising effect over the years.

Opioids are great at making themselves appear as the answer to all our problems.

Re: Attn men with sex drive/ED issues.

It's a shitty side-effect from all opioids. But we gotta contend with the reality that relapse into active opioid addiction is much worse outcome than disappointing the partner from time to time. One bruise to the ego vs a hole in the ground. As said by other's, it's important to find that sweet spo...

Back on Suboxone to prepare for involvement in Buvidal study

So I did my induction / switch from methadone to Sub two weeks ago today. It was from the relatively high dose of 55mg Biodone, so I knew I was in for a rough ride, but I've come through the other side and it's paid off. People are telling me my eyes look clearer, I'm not sleeping 13 hours a night a...

Re: Probuphine vs. Sublocade vs Strips - Any experiences?

You haven't heard about it because those cheeky corrupt bastards at Indivior managed to lobby the TGA to delay the launch of the Braeburn product, giving Sublocade a chance to have an exclusive market for at least 6 extra months. Just enough time to make doctors get used to their product, and perhap...

Re: Feel like we’re losing the fight

I don't really care as much about 12-step groups being puritanical about medication assisted treatment anymore. One of my old friends in NA used to say to me that 12-step groups are the Olympics of addiction recovery, in that only a tiny fraction of those that try end up qualifying for long term tot...

Re: Why I prefer Suboxone better than Methadone

I've been on methadone for a year after having a few years on Suboxone. Basically after a few years on Suboxone I had a relapse where I started abusing some very pure heroin, and when I tried to stop and restabilise on Suboxone the task was near impossible. I kept leaving to score. In the end I had ...

Re: suboxone stabilizing bipolar disorder?

I haven't heard of it being contraindicated with seroquel. Methadone and seroquel however has been linked with heart arrhythmias so that's definitely a no-no. I've been on seroquel and suboxone in the past and had no issues. Maybe your doctor is being cautious about the sedating effect of seroquel w...

Re: Probuphine vs. Sublocade vs Strips - Any experiences?

Please let me know more. I'm personally going to try to get on the buprenorphine injection in the next month or two. However in my country a different formula and brand is being introduced initially. It's made by Braeburn / Camarus and it's called Brixadi / Buvidal. It seems to have many more dose o...

Re: New opioids for maintenance treatment

Some countries are experimenting with maintenance Diamorphine, aka legal heroin, for long term treatment resistant addicts for whom methadone and Buprenorphine has failed. Similarly some are also experimenting with IV Hydromorphone to test its viability. But I don't see America going down either pat...

Re: Teejay's Methadone Reduction Thread

Just a small update. I'm presently on 3ml's of Biodone (15mg's). I'm dropping 1ml a week until I get down to 2ml's / 10mg's. After that I drop half a ml a week, or 2.5mg's a week. So far my reduction hasn't been eventful. The only thing is I'm quite emotional and irritable. A couple of weeks ago, 3 ...

Kissing people while on sublingual buprenorphine

This topic gets brought up occasionally. I feel like perhaps it isn't discussed enough and more people should be aware of the risks of accidentally sharing one's dose by kissing someone shortly after taking one's suboxone. Please be careful with kissing people once you've had your Suboxone. I've see...

Re: Teejay's Methadone Reduction Thread

Thanks for your support both of you. Agree with everything that's been said. The rational part of my mind says all those things, but there's still pain there that comes up, especially in the mornings before my dose. Opioid withdrawal makes me dwell on sad and painful events. I'm back on mood stabili...
