Hey Jenn, you're doing the right thing by taking prilosec. If the lining of your stomach is tore up from NSAIDs like mine was, prilosec will help it heal. I know on the bottle it says take everyday for 2 weeks then stop, but if your stomach lining is damaged you probably need to take it a lot longer...
