Re: Question about dose of Suboxone Film 8mg/2mg

Rule, I would tuck away 1-2 months worth (rotating the old periodically) and get on your current dose so you are filling every 30 days as your provider and insurance company expect. You are not breaking any law, but if it gets stolen and someone dies you could be held accountable, at least in Minnes...

Re: If you could balance the Suboxone film under your tongue in front of the mirror

Zen, how many times are you going to post about this and expect different answers than you have already recieved? I think you should get the long acting injection each month and go on with your life. I suppose then you would perseverate over the lump in your abdomen.

Re: Should I notice anything diff w subutex

Even though it is a tablet, it still must go under the tongue and allowed to dissolve. Don't swallow it like an aspirin. Keep the saliva in your mouth for 10-12 minutes before spitting it out or swallowing. Rule is correct in that it is easier to taper with the films. Unless you gave the clinic a bi...

Re: How long after taking my last dose of sublimate will pain meds work

Hello, are you in hospice? If death is truly eminent then the Sublocade is not really needed and adequate pain relief should be the goal. Hospice uses many alternatives for pain. If there is a chance of survival and staying on the Sublocade is necessary then it is ok to take pain medicine while on i...

Re: Nausea & vomiting when starting

If you are only take 5-10 mg of oxycodone daily an 8/1 film is way too high of a dose. Unless you are addicted and not just dependent you would be better off continuing to taper the oxycodone, stop it and use comfort meds for a few weeks. If addicted or need long term buprenorphine try a much lower ...

Re: Buprenorphine w/out naloxone

Any idea why my dr would do that? What’s the difference? 2nd question first: If taken properly no difference, except for some rare side effects from the Naloxone. Unless you asked I suspect it was a oversight due to the electronic medical record. There are several steps to ordering medications but e...

Re: 15 years trapped In Sub Hell

Hello trapped, you are right, very unlikely any provider would give you a full agonist (oxy ect) for a couple months. It is a violation of federal law to do that. There is a shot, Sublocade, long acting Buprenorphine, if you get at least two of them them it would take 3-6 months to get out of your s...

Re: 1.5mg withdrawal

You didn't say whether or not you have an addiction diagnosis with the VA.
If not see if they would be willing to use the pain management forms of Buprenorphine (Belbuca - a buccal patch) or Butrans (a skin patch). These can get much lower doses and the patch allows a gentle taper.
Good luck

Re: Nervous starting sub soon

Are you sure they are OXY 30's? Around here it is all pressed pills with Fentanyl. If possible see if they are testing for it. It complicates the induction. Ask them about microdosing, a technique that allows a person to start Suboxone without the withdrawals. Useful for long acting opioids like met...

Re: False positive for gabapentin

Do you know if this was a qualitative or quantitative test? It is unusual to test for gabapentinoids on routine screening. If quantitative that is a definitive test and pretty hard to refute. If it was just a pee in the cup test that was read at the clinic request that confirmatory testing be done. ...

Re: Suboxone strips no longer working…

You seem to have a great deal of concern about how to take your Suboxone. I have ready several of your posts and it just seems you spend a great deal of time and energy on taking your Suboxone. Have you discussed this with your clinician? Perhaps a good option for you would be the monthly injection....

Re: Messed Up

You don't have to wait. A relatively new method for starting Suboxone is called microinductions. A person doesn't need to be in withdrawal when they take their first dose. Your current dose is less than we usually use for a microinduction.

At that dose it is quite unlikely.
Many facilities are managing NAS differently now and babies being placed on tapers has really dropped.

It may vary depending on state but the DEA allows a month prescription and 5 refills. After 6 months of demonstrated stability and an active recovery plan I transition to seeing p...

If you are taking Suboxone for addiction that is a bad plan. You need to find a surgical/anesthesia team that will have you stay on your Suboxone and manage post op pain with appropriate doses of full agonists, blocks and other post op pain management techniques. Unless they are going to put you on ...

Not a problem as far as drug interactions but if due for a drug screen soon let your BUP provider know as it can give unexpected results.
If you have a history of stimulant abuse you would want to be careful.

In theory yes. But Butrans is for pain only, not addiction. Having been on Suboxone the pharmacy and insurance company may balk at switching to a 'pain' diagnoisis after being treated for addiction.
I've tried it twice and we ended going back to tiny doses of the films before stepping off.
